How do I get to the Mt Buller Village and snowfields?
Our recommended way of getting to the Mt Buller Village and snowfields is to drive to the car parks located 1.5km below the village. Once you reach the car parks you will be met by an attendant who will advise you where to park. From there you have two options - you can either hop on a free shuttle bus into the Village, or you can ride the Northside Express Chairlift directly to the snowfields.
Another option is to park your car at the base of the Mt Buller and take a bus. Parking is located at the Mirimbah Riverside car park. There is a fee for this service however you won’t need chains. You can then take a bus to the Mt Buller Village. Please note, if you park at Mirimbah, the pick-up point is located at the Mirimbah Store. See Mt Buller Winter Bus Services for details.
Otherwise, you can take a bus from either Merrijig or Sawmill Settlement along Mt Buller Rd to the Mt Buller Village. See Mt Buller Winter Bus Services for details and pickup points.
Don't forget Snow Chains!
Carrying fitted wheel chains is a legal requirement in winter.
Depending on snow and road conditions you may be required to fit chains. Click below to check the current requirements.
(chains can be bought or hired at most ski shops in Melbourne or Mansfield)
Lift Passes & Lessons
We don't recommend you pre-book lessons or lift tickets prior to arriving on the mountain unless it's the same day or on the night before and you know what the weather forecast is. We recommend you keep an eye on the weather to make sure conditions are favourable before you pre-book any lessons or lift tickets online.
